Job Summary

The Public Accounting Scheduler is a critical role within Yount Hyde & Barbour PC, responsible for coordinating and managing the scheduling of staff, client engagements, and project timelines. This position ensures that resources are allocated efficiently, project deadlines are met, and client needs are prioritized.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and manage staff schedules to optimize resource allocation across various client engagements.
  • Monitor project timelines to ensure deadlines are met, adjusting schedules as needed.
  • Communicate with Principals, Managers, and clients to identify and mitigate potential scheduling conflicts.
  • Foster teamwork and collaboration by evaluating staff availability, preferences, and development goals when creating schedules.
  • Work closely with partners and department heads to prioritize projects based on deadlines, client needs, and available resources.
  • Ensure smooth communication between teams and clients to maintain clear expectations and timely delivery of services.
  • Track and report on the progress of multiple projects and adjust staffing needs as necessary.
  • Utilize scheduling software and project management tools to streamline operations and track key performance indicators (KPIs) related to scheduling and resource allocation.
  • Analyze data to provide insights on staff utilization, project efficiency, and areas for improvement.
  • Generate reports for management on scheduling trends, staff availability, and workload distribution.
  • Collaborate with client service teams to ensure scheduling aligns with client expectations and deadlines.
  • Serve as a point of contact for client queries related to scheduling and resource availability.
  • Leverage staff resources to ensure work is appropriately disbursed and completed in accordance with YHB's procedures.
  • Facilitate, integrate, and coordinate Talent Management initiatives, including project planning, resourcing, timing, and communications.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, project management, business administration, or related field.
  • Experience in public accounting or professional services scheduling.
  • Strong understanding of resource management and project coordination in an accounting environment.
  • Proficiency in scheduling software and project management tools (e.g., Excel, Microsoft Project, or proprietary systems).
