Job Summary

We are seeking a Part-Time Certified Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Penn State University. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our pharmacy operations.

Responsibilities
  • Interpret prescriptions and accurately input necessary information into our system.
  • Maintain the proper care and maintenance of our robotic dispensing system.
  • Retrieve correct medication and accurately count dosage units.
  • Assemble medication for final inspection by pharmacist.
  • Respond to patient inquiries by reviewing patient files and verifying pertinent information.
  • Update patient records as needed.
  • Receive prescriptions from patients, IVR, and web-based prescription refill system.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate inventory of medication and supplies.
  • Check medications for expiration dates and handle according to established practices.
  • Process orders from all campus locations and university departments.
  • Process TP insurance claims.
  • Troubleshoot TP insurance rejections.
  • Run cash register.
  • Assist at intake window and answer phones as needed.
Requirements
  • Candidate must follow HIPAA and all applicable pharmacy laws and regulations.
  • Candidate must be CPht with previous pharmacy experience.
  • Candidate must have the ability to compute basic pharmaceutical calculations.
