Position Title: Primary Education Instructor

Organization: Athlos Academy

Reports To: Executive Director / Assistant Principal

Employment Type: At-Will

FLSA Status: Exempt

Full-Time Equivalent: 1.0

Schedule: Monday to Friday, 6:45 AM - 3:15 PM

Compensation: Salary based on experience

Starting Salary Range: $44,290 - $72,718, depending on experience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or enrollment in a teacher preparation program
  • Experience: Classroom experience is preferred
  • Certification: Valid local or state teaching certificate in the relevant subject area or willingness to obtain certification
  • Background: Clear FBI background check
  • Language Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills in English

Key Responsibilities:

  • Instruction: Teach students in grades K-6 within a self-contained classroom, covering all general education subjects.
  • Learning Environment: Foster a classroom atmosphere that promotes learning, engages students, and encourages optimal performance.
  • Curriculum Development: Design and implement rigorous lesson plans, assessments, and instructional strategies aligned with our foundational pillars.
  • Data-Driven Instruction: Utilize assessment data to guide instructional decisions and differentiate learning based on individual student needs.

Classroom and School Culture:

  • Promote a belief that all students can learn and thrive.
  • Implement school-wide management policies consistently.
  • Establish a positive learning environment through effective classroom rules and procedures.
  • Build strong relationships with students, families, and the community.

Communication:

  • Engage professionally with parents and the community.
  • Regularly update parents on student progress.
  • Collaborate with school leadership and colleagues to enhance instructional practices.

Professional Development:

  • Model the values of Athlos Academy.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and contribute to school events.
  • Provide and receive constructive feedback from peers.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Classroom, and video conferencing platforms.
  • Strong facilitation skills to engage all students.
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience in diverse communities and appreciation for varied perspectives.

Physical Requirements:

Employees must be able to perform essential functions, including standing or moving throughout the classroom, lifting up to 30 lbs, and maintaining focus in active environments.
