The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine and UPMC invite applications and nominations for the position of Chair of the internationally renowned Department of Urology. As a key leader in academic urology, the successful candidate will oversee the clinical, academic, and research activities of the department, holding the Frederic N. Schwentker Endowed Chair.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee clinical services throughout the UPMC system, consisting of more than 40 hospitals, directly supervising 50 clinical faculty members at 21 clinical sites and 4 research faculty members.
- Lead the Department's research portfolio, including 30 federally funded grants (NIH, DOD, DARPA), with current research areas including health services research, oncology, neurology/BPH, and infertility.
- Provide unparalleled educational experiences for medical students, residents, and fellows, including a competitive six-year residency program and accredited two-year clinical/research fellowships in Pediatric Urology and Urologic Oncology.
Requirements:
- Distinguished record in academic urology, commensurate with appointment as a tenured full professor.
- Significant administrative experience, with demonstrated ability to lead and recruit a diverse workforce.
- BC/BE and qualified for medical licensure in Pennsylvania.
