Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist to join our team at Methodist Hospital Metropolitan. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the delivery of quality surgical care by coordinating with the circulating perioperative nurse during surgical procedures.
  • Prepare and maintain the sterile field, ensuring a safe and efficient environment for surgical procedures.
  • Supply sterile instruments and supplies to the sterile field as needed.
  • Monitor the sterile field during procedures and take corrective action if necessary.
  • Prepare medications and solutions for use during procedures under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
  • Maintain accountability for instruments, sponges, and sharps throughout the surgical procedure.
Requirements
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Graduated from a surgical technologist program or 1-year experience in a hospital setting as a surgical technologist.
  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery, Certified (TS-C) through the National Board for Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or the National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT).
