Overview
This role provides essential administrative, sales, and clerical support to Mortgage Loan Officers and Mortgage Sales Managers, handling more intricate issues as they arise.
This is a full-time, hybrid position offering the flexibility to work remotely up to three days per week following the completion of initial training.
The primary office location is in Chevy Chase, MD.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain comprehensive mortgage loan files.
- Assist clients and potential borrowers throughout the loan process to strengthen business relationships. Facilitate communication among real estate agents, title companies, and clients regarding settlement, commitment letters, and necessary documentation for loan approval.
- Collect essential documentation to aid the Mortgage Loan Officer or Mortgage Sales Manager in the underwriting and credit assessment of borrowers.
- Support the Mortgage Loan Officer or Mortgage Sales Manager in compiling and preparing loan submissions.
- Manage the entry and closure of referrals in the internal system.
- Input data and oversee marketing initiatives and tools such as the Loan Officer Toolbox.
- Assist in organizing the Loan Officer's calendar for client meetings, sales calls, and other organizational meetings.
- Coordinate with the marketing team to meet the Loan Officer's promotional needs for flyers and trade shows.
- Help with data entry into the loan origination system.
- Ensure effective communication and follow-up between Loan Officers, real estate agents, clients, and processing staff, acting as a liaison to maintain clear communication.
- Regularly engage with clients to gather information and documentation necessary for completing mortgage applications and cost estimates.
- Collaborate with clients to structure residential mortgage loans, presenting various loan options and their benefits.
- Review underwriting criteria, structure loans accordingly, and submit them to the automated underwriting system. Adjust loans to comply with guidelines and secure approval.
- Organize, coordinate, and participate in settlement meetings.
Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience
A minimum of two years in mortgage banking is required.
At least one year of administrative experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Office, is required.
Other Duties as Assigned by Manager
This position may involve additional responsibilities as assigned by management. All employees are expected to understand and comply with all company policies, regulations, and compliance training requirements.
Pay Transparency
This position is eligible for a commission plan in addition to base compensation.
