Position Overview:
TRC is looking for a dedicated Civil Engineer-in-Training (EIT) to join our expanding Civil Engineering Services team in Phoenix, Arizona.

The ideal candidate will be eager to collaborate with engineers, project managers, and technical staff in the planning, design, and oversight of civil engineering initiatives, including site development, industrial projects, renewable energy, and municipal infrastructure, which encompasses roadway design, drainage systems, site grading, and water/wastewater utilities.


Key Responsibilities:
- Support Project Managers and Engineers in generating project plans, specifications, reports, and cost assessments.

- Assist with construction management duties, including reviewing material submissions and coordinating with contractors.

- Participate in all project phases, including design development and site visits during both design and construction stages.

- Conduct site assessments, surveys, and inspections, aiding in data collection and analysis for infrastructure projects.


- Interpret civil site backgrounds, manage nested External Reference Files (Xrefs), comply with company drafting standards, and create design details from sketches and manufacturer specifications.

Deliver high-quality outputs while adhering to budgets and timelines across multiple concurrent projects.

- Foster and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, clients, and public agencies.

- Undertake additional responsibilities as needed.

Initial Project Assignment:


Provide onsite support for ongoing water and wastewater system operations and construction, including water sampling, field documentation, and reporting.

Assist the engineering and water system operations teams in a construction field office.

- Facilitate, coordinate, and document construction management team meetings.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field with 0-2 years of relevant experience.- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word and Excel, is essential.

- Strong verbal and written communication skills.

- Must demonstrate flexibility, organization, accountability, and reliability.

- Physically capable of performing fieldwork.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Over 3 years of relevant experience.

- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification.


- Familiarity with computer-aided engineering and design software for preparing engineering documents (e.g., AutoCAD, MicroStation, GIS).
