Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Oncology Nurse Specialist to join our team at Trident Medical Center. As a key member of our medical oncology unit, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality, patient-centered care.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care to patients with cancer diagnoses, following established nursing models and standards of practice.
  • Collaborate with medical providers and the care team to ensure seamless patient care and positive clinical outcomes.
  • Act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values.
  • Manage efficient flow of patient care, including screening, preparation for exams, providing general nursing care and comfort, and arranging for admissions, testing, and discharges.
  • Administer medications in accordance with physician orders and instruct patients and families regarding medications and treatment plans.
  • Respond to and refer incoming telephone calls, including phone triage when needed.
Requirements
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required.
  • Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi-State RN license.
  • A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required.
