Job Summary:The Charge Nurse is responsible for providing direct nursing care to residents and supervising the day-to-day nursing activities performed by nursing assistants. This role requires a strong understanding of nursing and medical practices, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines that pertain to nursing care facilities.
Key Responsibilities:- Provide direct nursing care to residents, including administering medications, performing treatments, and documenting resident information.
- Supervise nursing assistants and ensure that they are providing high-quality care to residents.
- Develop and implement care plans that meet the unique needs of each resident.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare team members to ensure that resident needs are met.
- Monitor and report any changes in resident condition to the Director of Nursing or Nurse Supervisor.
- Ensure that all nursing activities are performed in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
- Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as an RN in this state.
- Ability to read, write, and speak English.
- Knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age-related needs of the residents.
- Leadership and supervisory qualities, with the ability to work with and supervise other personnel.
- Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary to providing quality care.
