Job Summary:

As a Host/Hostess, you will be the face of our restaurant, welcoming guests with warmth and professionalism. Your primary role is to manage the flow of the restaurant, ensure a seamless dining experience, and provide an exceptional first impression. You will be responsible for managing reservations, coordinating seating, and assisting guests with any special requests.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Experience: Greet guests as they arrive with a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
  • Reservation Management: Manage reservations and waitlists using OpenTable.
  • Seating Coordination: Coordinate seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and maximize guest satisfaction.
  • Front-of-House Maintenance: Maintain a clean and organized front-of-house area, including the entrance, host stand, and waiting areas.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with servers, kitchen staff, and management to ensure a smooth flow of service.
  • Phone and Inquiries: Answer phone calls promptly and assist guests with reservations, takeout orders, or inquiries.
  • Guest Complaints: Handle guest complaints or special requests with professionalism and a customer-first attitude.
  • Additional Duties: Assist with additional front-of-house duties as needed, such as setting up tables, folding napkins, and restocking menus.
  • Service Standards: Uphold the restaurant's standards of excellence in service and presentation.

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Previous experience as a host/hostess or in a customer service role is preferred.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Adaptability: Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
  • Attitude and Appearance: A positive attitude, professional appearance, and a passion for hospitality.
  • Availability: Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Cultural Knowledge: Knowledge or appreciation of Mexican cuisine and culture is a plus.
