**Job Summary**

We are seeking an experienced Emergency Department Technician to join our team at Middlesex Health. As a key member of our emergency department, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our nursing staff.

**About the Role**

In this position, you will assist with activities of daily living, collect and document vital signs and other data points, and provide direct patient observation. You will also reinforce patient education, provide clinical secretarial support, and participate in creating a positive environment for patients, families, and staff.

**Responsibilities**

* Assist with activities of daily living, including basic hygiene, toileting, nutrition, etc.
* Collect and document vital signs, blood glucose monitoring, etc.
* Perform direct patient observation
* Reinforce patient education
* Provide clinical secretarial support, including answering phones, placing calls, and arranging transport as needed
* Participate in creating a positive environment for patients, families, and staff

**Requirements**

To be successful in this role, you must have a high school diploma or equivalent experience, as well as experience in a patient care environment such as a CNA, EMT, Medical Assistant, Nursing Student, Pre-Physician Assistant student, or two years working clinically in the hospital setting. Additionally, you should possess qualities of accountability, multitasking, organization, and good communication skills.

**Preferred Qualifications**

* Hospital experience
* Certification as an EMT, nursing assistant (CNA) or Patient Care Technician (PCT)
* Strong work ethic, good organizational skills, multitasking, excellence in customer service, ability to work well on a team, and strong communication skills
