Senior Cardiovascular Care Physician Lead

We are seeking an experienced Senior Cardiovascular Care Physician Lead to join our clinical operations team at ChenMed. As a key member of the team, you will play a crucial role in providing direct patient care and assessments in an ambulatory healthcare setting.
About the RoleAs a Senior Cardiovascular Care Physician Lead, you will be responsible for diagnosing and treating cardiovascular ailments, taking medical histories, conducting physical exams, developing care plans, providing health education, and ensuring clear documentation according to ChenMed standards.
You will lead a cardiovascular care team and assist the Medical Director in managing clinical and business operations, building relationships with providers and stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with guidelines.
Your responsibilities will include examining patients, running tests, and recommending care or treatment plans. You will assess patient ability to withstand surgery and help surgeons manage strategy.
You will review PCP requests for external cardiology referrals and participate in utilization authorizations. You will exercise final medical judgment in healthcare for paneled patients.
In addition, you will provide patient education on heart disease, wellness, and prevention. You will assist with training and hiring of Care Promoters and NPs/PAs. You will coach and mentor PCP physicians in cardiology management.
You will aid with quality and performance initiatives, assist with implementation of cost reduction and market clinical strategies, and build relationships with internal and external physician stakeholders.
Requirements- Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the Cardiology field
- Superior clinical skills in managing seniors with complex medical needs
- Ability to cultivate strong relationships with primary care physicians and their center-based care teams
- Conflict management and resolution skills
- Experience of population risk management or complex chronic disease care management preferred
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Ability and willingness to travel locally to all centers in the market
- Spoken and written fluency in English
- MD or DO in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Geriatrics, or similar specialty required
- Board certification in Cardiology required, but may have other sub-specialty training and board certification as well
- Current, unrestricted, and active license to practice medicine in the state of employment
- Current DEA and DPS Certificate of Registration required
The estimated annual salary for this position is $250,000 - $350,000, depending on experience. Additionally, you will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
