Key Responsibilities- Transport patients in a safe and professional manner
- Ensure vehicles are clean and in working order, with regular cleaning and maintenance
- Communicate effectively with hospital staff to receive relevant data and instructions
- Inspect vehicles daily to ensure safe and comfortable patient transport
- Assist with patient transfers and balancing, ensuring physical and overall comfort
- Follow patient safety and vehicle safety protocols, including PPE use
- Notify staff of any changes in patient condition or behavior
- Work during inclement weather and other staffing emergencies as needed
- Provide a safe environment for patients, visitors, and staff, assessing and mitigating risks
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Basic Life Support/CPR card required
- Six months van transport experience preferred
- Must maintain a clean driving record, current class-specific driver's license, and insurability
- Demonstrated proficiency in using relevant machines, tools, and equipment
- Critical thinking skills and ability to maintain quality, infection prevention, and safety standards
- Effective written and verbal communication skills, with compassion and understanding
This role requires a significant amount of sitting, driving, and reaching, often for prolonged periods. You will also need to lift up to 50 pounds and be exposed to bodily fluids. Manual dexterity is required for operating equipment and computer keyboards.
