Role Overview
As an essential member of the Finance team, you will play a pivotal role in planning and executing our ambitious manufacturing scale-up from research and development to large-scale production.
This position involves close collaboration with the Manufacturing Operations and Advanced Manufacturing teams to create detailed plans for each production line.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing precise capital expenditure, labor, and overhead budgets.
- Identifying opportunities for cost savings, design improvements, and automation enhancements.
- Influencing critical decisions to expedite Form's capacity for multi-day energy storage deployment.
This role demands strong analytical and Excel skills, a high level of independence, and the resilience to navigate the challenges typical of start-up environments. While deep technical expertise in manufacturing operations is not mandatory, a strong eagerness to learn is essential.
Key Performance Indicators
Your success will be evaluated based on Form's ability to deliver the necessary multi-day storage capacity to meet emission reduction targets.
What You Will Contribute:
- Developing comprehensive equipment capital expenditure budgets aligned with manufacturing processes and hardware design.
- Driving equipment design and sourcing decisions to optimize capital returns and minimize assembly costs.
- Collaborating with Manufacturing Operations and Advanced Manufacturing teams to outline detailed labor and overhead cost reduction strategies.
- Leading efforts in manufacturing workforce planning and partnering with HR to facilitate hiring initiatives.
- Conducting thorough analyses and providing insights on manufacturing capital expenditures and labor costs to guide Form's manufacturing strategy.
- Identifying and monitoring key performance indicators to assess the financial and operational efficiency of each manufacturing line and process.
Qualifications:
3-4 years of experience in finance or consulting, preferably in industrial manufacturing settings. Proficiency in Excel and the ability to translate large datasets into actionable insights are crucial. You should demonstrate a capacity for cross-team collaboration and relationship building, as well as comfort with ambiguity and creative problem-solving. A strong commitment to addressing climate change is essential.
