  • Assess and Monitor Student Progress, Making Necessary Adjustments to Instructional Strategies Based on Data and Individual Performance
  • Collaborate with General Education Teachers, School Psychologists, Speech-Language Pathologists, and Other Professionals to Support Student Success
  • Communicate Regularly with Parents and Guardians about Student Progress and IEP Goals
  • Maintain Accurate and Up-to-Date Records of Student Progress, IEPs, and Other Required Documentation
  • Engage in Professional Development Opportunities to Stay Current with Best Practices in Special Education
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Special Education or a Related Field
  • Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate in Special Education (K-12)
  • In-Depth Knowledge of State and Federal Special Education Laws and Regulations
  • Experience with IEP Development and Implementation
  • Strong Communication and Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to Work Collaboratively with a Team of Educators and Support Staff
  • Experience Working with Students with Various Disabilities is Preferred
Licensure and Certification Requirements
  • Arizona Department of Education (ADE) Special Education Certificate
  • Certification in Mild/Moderate Disabilities (K-12) or Severe/Profound Disabilities (K-12)
  • Any Additional Certifications Required by the Arizona Department of Education (ADE)
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • Proficiency in Using Assistive Technology and Adaptive Equipment
  • Familiarity with Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs) and Positive Behavioral Supports
  • Training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) or Other Specialized Instructional Techniques
