We are currently in search of a full-time Lead Financial Analyst to become a vital part of our Finance and Accounting team. This role is essential for the preparation of financial reports, month-end closing processes, reconciliations, and various accounting responsibilities. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in general ledger accounting and ERP systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Gather and evaluate financial data from multiple sources to create journal entries for general ledger accounts and document business transactions.
- Ensure timely and precise financial reporting and adherence to compliance standards.
- Oversee fixed and intangible asset ledgers, preparing monthly entries, roll-forwards, and reconciliations.
- Execute timely journal entries while ensuring the accuracy of all revenues and expenses in accordance with company policies.
- Conduct monthly balance sheet account reconciliations.
- Maintain complex schedules utilized for monthly journal entries and reconciliations.
- Prepare various tax submissions, annual reports, and business licenses.
- Engage in special projects and financial analyses to support our growth initiatives.
- Investigate unusual transactions and fluctuations, determining the appropriate accounting treatment for income statement and balance sheet items.
- Act as a backup for Accounts Payable and Receivable functions.
- Possess a solid understanding of the Accounts Receivable and Collections processes.
- Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Support year-end financial audits, cost report audits, and other ad-hoc projects as required.
- Facilitate all bank audits and monthly banking requirements.
- Contribute to the enhancement of accounting processes and procedures while strengthening internal controls.
- Perform additional Accounting/Finance duties or projects as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in general ledger accounting with a strong technical foundation.
- Thorough understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound, independent judgments within departmental guidelines.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, across all organizational levels.
- Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to maintain accuracy and quality in a fast-paced, multi-tasking environment.
- Focus on efficiency through the reduction of manual processes.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, including pivot tables and v-lookups.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Project).
- Experience with Accounting ERP systems (Sage 100 preferred).
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
