Key Responsibilities

* Verify patient information by interviewing patients, recording medical history, and confirming the purpose of visit
* Enter medical history and visit information into our Electronic Health Record (EHR)
* Escort patients to exam rooms and prepare them for medical examinations
* Assist physicians during medical examinations and procedures
* Schedule medical procedures and instruct patients on proper medication usage
* Phone in prescriptions to pharmacies and perform in-office phlebotomy
* Collect, log, and package lab specimens for transport
* Sterilize medical instruments and maintain a safe and healthy work environment

Requirements

* High School diploma or equivalent certificate
* Prior experience in a medical office setting
* Ability to learn related center tasks and be of assistance to management and physicians
* Self-motivated to achieve high patient care and customer service standards
* Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT coding (preferred)
* Familiarity with the ModMed EMA EMR (preferred)
* Thorough understanding of HIPAA law
