We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Client Advocate to join our team at the Department of Mental Health-MHC Catawba. As a Client Advocate, you will play a critical role in providing support and services to individuals with serious mental illness (SMI) in our community.

Job Summary:

The Client Advocate will serve on the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) team, providing intensive non-residential treatment and rehabilitative services to patients with SMI. This position requires a strong understanding of recovery principles, mental health treatment, and community resources.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct services to patients through coaching, mentoring, and consultation to promote recovery, self-advocacy, and self-direction.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive medical records, adhering to QA, DMH, and CARF policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the ACT team to develop and implement treatment plans, ensuring patient-centered care and a culture of recovery.
  • Participate in daily team meetings and treatment planning sessions, contributing to the development of effective treatment strategies.
  • Ensure timely completion of annual required trainings, including Safety, MAPS, Cultural Affairs, and clinical trainings.
Requirements:
  • A high school diploma and relevant human services or social services experience.
  • Lived experience and a personal recovery story specific to primary mental illness.
  • Bilingual abilities in English and Spanish (or another language) are a plus.
