Job Overview

Purpose of the Role

The Production Supervisor oversees all production activities. This role involves directing and monitoring the daily operations of team leads and employees within the production area, ensuring that all scheduled orders are produced safely, according to specifications, and in compliance with GMP and Food Safety policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the daily operations of production team leads and their staff.
  • Prioritize employee safety and foster an environment that enhances safety practices.
  • Supervise the efficient production of scheduled orders while ensuring compliance with GMP standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to implement all planned initiatives.
  • Train and oversee production personnel.
  • Ensure adherence to all policies regarding FIFO, holds, and material expiry.
  • Assist in managing and organizing labor for current and upcoming operational schedules.
  • Maintain and enhance production cost controls, staffing levels, and line efficiencies.
  • Promote and uphold the CandyCo Safety Culture, striving for full compliance with safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Proven track record of safety and a commitment to fostering a safety culture.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role within production environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual abilities (English and Spanish) are preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and possess strong mathematical skills.
  • Self-motivated with a high level of integrity, capable of performing tasks with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrated dependability, maturity, initiative, and sound judgment in past job performance.
  • Experience with ERP systems such as SAP, ROSS, or PLEX is advantageous, or a willingness to learn.

Working Conditions

  • Flexibility to work various shifts as required.
  • Availability for overtime, including holidays and weekends, as needed.
  • Willingness to perform hands-on tasks and fill in positions as directed.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and move around the facility for 95% of the shift (rolling desks available).
  • Capability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, with occasional reaching, kneeling, and twisting.
  • Non-slip resistant footwear is required.
  • Participation in pre-shift stretching and exercises is expected.
  • Compliance with safety attire requirements, including hair restraints and gloves as necessary.

Direct Reports

This position does not have direct reports but oversees the work of leads and operators, including both permanent and temporary staff.
