Job Overview

Purpose of the Role

The Manufacturing Supervisor oversees production operations. This role involves directing and monitoring the daily tasks of Leads and team members, ensuring that all scheduled orders are produced safely, according to specifications, compliant with GMP, and aligned with our Food Safety Policy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Direct and manage the daily operations of Production Leads and their teams.
  • Prioritize employee safety and foster an environment that enhances safety practices.
  • Supervise the efficient production of scheduled orders while ensuring compliance with GMP standards.
  • Collaborate closely with Quality Assurance, Warehouse, Logistics, and other departments to execute planned initiatives.
  • Train and oversee Production staff personnel.
  • Adhere to all policies regarding FIFO, HOLDS, and material expiry.
  • Assist in managing and organizing labor for current and upcoming operational schedules.
  • Maintain and enhance Production cost controls, staffing levels, and line efficiencies.
  • Promote and uphold the CandyCo Safety Culture, striving for full compliance with safety policies.

Qualifications

  • Proven excellent safety record and commitment to fostering a safety culture.
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role within production environments.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Bilingual abilities (English and Spanish) are preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and possess strong mathematical skills.
  • Self-motivated with high integrity, capable of performing duties with minimal supervision and in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrated dependability, maturity, initiative, and positive demeanor in past job performance.
  • Experience with SAP, ROSS, PLEX, or other ERP systems is advantageous, or willingness to learn.

Working Conditions

  • Availability to work various shifts as required.
  • Willingness to work overtime, including holidays and weekends, as necessary.
  • Ability to perform line work and fill in positions as directed.

Physical Requirements

  • Capability to stand and move around the facility for 95% of the shift (rolling desks are available).
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs unassisted, including reaching, kneeling, and twisting as needed.
  • Non-slip resistant footwear is required.
  • Pre-shift stretching and exercises are mandatory.
  • Compliance with hair restraints, beard nets (if applicable), and safety gloves as required.

Direct Reports

This position does not have direct reports but oversees Leads and Operators, including both permanent and temporary staff.
