About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Medical Director to lead our Field Medical team at Revolution Medicines. As a key member of our Medical Affairs team, you will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to support our portfolio of products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and coach a team of Field Medical professionals.
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Field Medical deployment plan, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Provide critical input into the development and optimization of systems, including Customer Relationship Management, Medical Insights, and territory planning tools.
  • Develop, deploy, and monitor key performance indicators, delivering regular reports to senior leadership.
  • Lead the Field Medical team, developing and tracking team goals, and ensuring technical and skills training.
  • Encourage and identify opportunities for professional development across the Field Medical team, including career mapping.
  • Uphold and ensure compliance standards across the Field Medical team, supporting adherence to relevant regulatory requirements and company Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Effectively communicate the value of Field Medical across the organization.
  • Create a robust Field Medical plan across US national, regional, and community healthcare practitioners, including academic institutions and community centers.
  • Support the development and execution of stakeholder engagement strategies to ensure timely and accurate scientific communication.
  • Drive scientific exchange and ensure the Field Medical team has the resources necessary to support robust communication, both proactive and reactive.
  • Drive insight generation to ensure actionable insights are generated, captured, and communicated across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to support compliant and effective cross-functional collaboration across Clinical Development, Medical Affairs, and Commercial teams.
  • Provide strong input to strategic planning to ensure alignment with tactical execution.
  • Develop an annual Field Medical tactical plan and aligned budget, monitoring and managing the assigned budget and relationships with vendors.
  • Foster a culture of empowerment, collaboration, and a focus on patient impact.
Requirements
  • Advanced medical or scientific doctoral-level degree (MD, PharmD, PhD).
  • 10+ years of experience in the Pharmaceutical or Biotech Industry with Medical Affairs.
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role managing Field Medical teams.
  • Global product launch experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in oncology.
  • Demonstrated experience recruiting, hiring, and retaining Field Medical talent.
  • Leadership skills, project management, and organizational skills, with the ability to evaluate competing priorities.
  • Collaborative team-based approach, with the ability to network and partner with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Thorough understanding of applicable regulatory requirements for field-based personnel and PhRMA guidelines.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of Field Medical best practices.
  • Experience in recruiting, onboarding, managing, coaching, and retaining talent.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 15+ years of experience in Medical Affairs.
  • Expertise in gastrointestinal and lung cancers.
