Ophthalmic Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Ophthalmic Technologist to join our team at the University of Rochester. As a key member of our medical faculty group, you will play a critical role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.
Key Responsibilities- Perform complex technical assignments, including visual acuity testing, diagnostic imaging, and ocular pharmacology.
- Work closely with physicians to transcribe medical records, document procedures, and assist with patient care.
- Train and mentor other technologists in various skill sets, including diagnostic testing and imaging.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in ophthalmology and optometry, and apply this knowledge to improve patient care and outcomes.
- High school diploma plus training or coursework in optometry, ophthalmology, or a related field.
- 1-2 years of closely related clinical experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Certification by the registry of the Joint Commission of Allied Health in Personnel Ophthalmology, or other nationally recognized professional certifying body.
