Overview

The MRI Imaging Specialist is responsible for executing imaging protocols and treatments in accordance with radiological standards to support the diagnosis and management of medical conditions. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibits a comprehensive understanding of radiological principles and theories, employing the most suitable techniques and positioning to achieve optimal imaging results.
  • Formulates effective imaging and treatment plans.
  • Executes imaging and treatment plans in line with established protocols and guidelines.
  • Completes necessary documentation to adhere to organizational policies and procedures.
  • Ensures that imaging equipment, treatment areas, and workspaces are maintained in a clean and safe manner to protect the well-being of patients and staff.
  • Engages in departmental and organizational Performance Improvement initiatives to guarantee that patient care aligns with established benchmarks.
  • Achieves assigned objectives and targets.
Qualifications and Experience

Education

Required: Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) or Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MR) preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is mandatory within 30 days of employment.

Experience

Required: A minimum of 6 months of experience in the specialty area is necessary to fulfill all MRI competencies by the conclusion of the orientation period.

Licensure and Certification

Required: ARRT(R); ARRT(MR); BLS certification within 14 days of hire; state licensure as required.

Essential Skills

Required: Proficiency in basic computer skills.
