Job Summary:

As an Electromechanical PLC Technician at ESPO Corporation, you will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, troubleshooting, repairing, rebuilding, and calibrating plant electrical and mechanical equipment and systems. You will work under the general direction and supervision of Management and use a variety of tools and equipment, including meters, scopes, test equipment, computers, PLC hardware, and software programs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Obtain work assignments and maintenance schedules from the Maintenance Manager or Production Supervisor
  • Regularly inspect and record the condition of electrical equipment, including motors, generators, control panels, systems, switches, lighting, circuits, and circuit breakers
  • Use electrical test equipment, drawings, electrical blueprints, wiring, and PLC schematic diagrams to install new equipment and diagnose problems with inoperative equipment
  • Perform temporary or permanent repairs, correct defective circuits, and repair motors, cranes, generators, and other equipment
  • Monitor, inspect, and calibrate computer relay systems and analyze and make repairs on the same
  • Train and assist in the development of Electricians in PLC and Electromechanical Systems
Requirements:
  • 4-year technical college degree or equivalent education and experience
  • Familiarity with solid-state control systems
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience working with PLCs and HMI programming
  • Knowledge of test equipment used for trouble-shooting systems
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, PLC programs, and act on them
  • Thorough knowledge of AC/DC equipment, motors, generators, control panels, switches, lighting circuit breakers, and relay systems, variable speed drives, and programmable controllers
  • Ability to troubleshoot, modify, and/or re-write ladder logic programs within processors using RSLogix software
  • Knowledge and ability to troubleshoot, repair, or replace portions of, or entirety of, specialized electromechanical systems in hydro, hydraulic, or pneumatic equipment
  • Familiarity with all applicable codes and proper installation methods
