The Substitute Educator plays a crucial role in providing temporary teaching support across various child care facilities. Catering to children aged from 6 weeks to 12 years, the Substitute Educator is responsible for fostering a nurturing and respectful learning environment. This role involves monitoring and reporting on children's behaviors while adhering to all policies and regulations set forth by the child care centers and state standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with all center policies and state regulations within the assigned classroom.
  • Promote a healthy and safe classroom atmosphere, maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards.
  • Facilitate a well-organized classroom that encourages positive interactions.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance quality of service.
  • Be physically capable of lifting up to 40 pounds, interacting with children on the floor, and participating in outdoor activities in varying weather conditions.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of a background check.
  • Medical examination with documented Mantoux results.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Prior experience in child care is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with others.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills along with basic computer proficiency.

  • High energy and a passion for working with children.
  • Understanding of child development principles.
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • CPR and First Aid certification for infants and children is advantageous but not essential.
