Job Summary

The Child Care Resources team is seeking a Substitute Educator to provide backup teaching services for various child care centers in Monmouth County. The Substitute Educator will assist in creating and maintaining a respectful classroom culture that fosters safe and productive learning. The Substitute Educator will monitor, observe, and report behaviors, and follow all child care centers policies and procedures as well as state regulations, quality requirements, and standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met and maintained in the classroom.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment, including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Maintain a well-managed classroom and positive environment.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.
Requirements
  • Successfully pass a full background check.
  • Medical or physical examination with a record of Mantoux results.
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous childcare experience preferred but not required.
  • Ability to work well with others.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
