Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner

We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our team at Advocate Health in Wisconsin. As a key member of our clinical team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and manage acute, critical, and chronic patient illnesses and diseases in an outpatient clinic setting.
- Conduct thorough medical histories, physical examinations, and assessments to determine differential diagnoses.
- Prescribe medication, therapy, and treatments as necessary.
- Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine management and treatment plans.
- Perform minor surgeries and routine procedures as required.
- Consult with physicians as needed to ensure comprehensive patient care.
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies in the field of clinical specialty.
- Adjust patient care plans by reviewing and monitoring treatments and therapy plans.
- Counsel and educate patients on physical and mental health, including diet, preventive health measures, health behaviors, self-care skills, disease, treatment options, and normal growth and development.
- Provide care coordination, including managing ancillary services, pre-operative plans, discharge planning, provider referrals, and medical devices.
- Prescribe, recommend, and regulate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies across multiple care settings.
- 7 or more years of experience working as a NP or PA in Primary Care.
- Ability to FLOAT or travel to any clinic in Wisconsin that needs operational coverage.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the workday.
- Must have functional speech, vision, touch, and hearing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.
- Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.
- Physician Assistant license issued by the state in which the caregiver practices.
- Physician Assistant (PA-C) certification issued by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
- Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which the caregiver practices, and Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) certification issued by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), or Nurse Practitioner (AANP) certification issued by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).
- Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) registration issued by the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Registration.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
