About the Role

AECOM is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Scientist to support our Pittsburgh, PA office. This role will play a key part in delivering projects that create a positive and tangible impact around the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct site visits to document site conditions, equipment, and structures.
  • Collect stormwater, impingement, and entrainment samples.
  • Work outside in all seasons in industrial settings.
  • Prepare environmental compliance reports.
  • Environmental permit package preparation.
  • Health and Safety procedure preparation.
  • Understand environmental regulations and prepare reports and plans that meet the applicable regulations.
  • Office tasks may include reviewing and interpreting data and preparing reports and work plans; client, subcontractor, and regulatory agency interaction; and developing and implementing remedial strategies.
  • Work within teams of various size at AECOM to complete large projects.

About You

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Environmental, Safety, or other Science, or related field.
  • Valid Drivers License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOMs Motor Vehicle Records review.
  • Experience within the environmental, health or safety field is preferred.
  • Knowledge of environmental and safety regulations (EPA, OSHA, DOT, NIOSH, ANSI, NFPA) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of water, soil, and air testing, sampling and investigation techniques and procedures is an advantage.
  • Experience with annual Tier II, TRI, GHG and Emissions Inventory reports is desired.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential.
  • Current OHSA 40-Hour HAZWOPER Certification, or current 8-hour refresher certificate is required.
  • Able to efficiently assist on multiple projects with varying timelines.

  • The estimated salary for this position is $65,000 - $85,000 per year, depending on experience.
