Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Forensic Accountant to join our team at Shuster & Company, P.C. As a leading accounting firm, we specialize in forensic accounting, business valuation, litigation support, divorce financial consulting, and family law support.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Bookkeeping and Financial Reporting: Enter data, maintain records, and produce accurate financial reports using QuickBooks and other accounting systems.
  • Payroll Management: Manage payroll duties to ensure timely payment to employees and maintain accurate records.
  • Financial Transactions: Record day-to-day financial transactions, complete the posting process, and verify accuracy in the correct daybook, suppliers ledger, customer ledger, and general ledger.
  • Financial Statement Preparation: Ensure all books reconcile with bank statements and prepare financial statements.
  • Accounting Verification: Verify the accuracy of accounting as presented to us.
  • Data Organization: Organize a substantial amount of data presented to us.
  • Reporting and Presentation: Express findings and present them in a clear and concise report.
  • Technical Skills: Possess a good understanding of QuickBooks, General Ledger, and other accounting systems.
  • Industry Knowledge: Willing to study and learn about different businesses and industries.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Well-experienced in Bank Reconciliations.
  • Payroll Accounting: Good understanding of Payroll Accounting.
Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Experience: 2+ years of work experience at an accounting firm or as a bookkeeper, cost accountant, management accountant, or similar position.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of QuickBooks, Excel, and basic accounting systems. Exceptional problem-solving, communication, and time management skills.
  • Certifications: Excellent Microsoft skills and knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
