The Role
As a Lead Structural Engineer at Thornton Tomasetti within our Forensics team, you will engage in projects related to structural forensic analysis, litigation assistance, risk loss consulting, structural rehabilitation, and retrofit design. You will have the chance to conduct structural assessments of existing structures as part of a project team, evaluate technical documentation pertinent to building structures and designs, and devise remedial solutions for identified deficiencies. Collaborate with a project team on marketing initiatives, report generation, and drawing production.

Responsibilities
  • Support damage evaluations and cause-and-origin investigations.
  • Compile field notes, feasibility assessments, and specifications.
  • Contribute to technical and investigative reports to substantiate forensic conclusions and prepare materials for presentations.
  • Conduct necessary structural calculations, designs, and details for a wide variety of project types.
  • Assist with peer evaluations and condition assessments.
Requirements
  • Degree (Master's preferred) in structural engineering or a related discipline.
  • Successfully completed the Fundamentals of Engineering exam (FE Exam).
  • 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Proficient in SAP 2000 or similar analytical software; experience with Revit BIM software is advantageous.
Compensation
The compensation for this position typically ranges from $75,000 to $90,000 annually. This range is a good faith estimate provided in accordance with applicable equal pay laws. It is based on what a successful applicant might earn and assumes that the candidate will be in a relevant location or perform the position from there. Actual pay rates may vary based on various factors, including operational needs, individual qualifications, experience, and other considerations permitted by law.
