Radiology Technologist

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Radiology Technologist to join our team at NYU Grossman School of Medicine. As a Faculty Group Practice Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the advancement of medical education and research.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out patient care responsibilities with emphasis on decision-making related to the nursing process.
- Provide competent, safe, and compassionate care based on established NYUHC Patient Care and Nursing Standards.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to implement a comprehensive patient-centered plan of care.
- Participate in center-based quality and performance improvement programs.
- Educate patients and families to facilitate healthy adjustment to new or changed health patterns.
- Evaluate patient progress toward attainment of expected outcomes.
- Implement interventions identified in the plan of care.
- Function as a respectful member of the healthcare team.
- Develop a plan of care that prescribes interventions to attain expected outcomes.
- Participate in designated activities related to standards and regulations of relevant outside agencies.
- Provide emergency care in accordance with the Centers policy.
- Participate in quality improvement programs and activities that promote patient, family/caregiver, physician, and staff satisfaction.
- Utilize resources to meet individual learning needs and promote professional development in clinical practice.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the NYUMC Service Standards and incorporate into the performance of responsibilities.
- Identify expected outcomes and anticipate unexpected or adverse outcomes as individualized to the patient.
- Participate in clinical inquiry and activities to foster an evidence-based practice.
- Serve as a support and resource for nursing staff and students.
- Collaborate with the members of the interdisciplinary team and promote collegial relationships.
- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses.
- Maintain an awareness of current evidence-based practices and use research data applicable to patient care.
- Engage in self-assessment and participate in activities to promote own professional growth and development.
- Participate in coordination of unit activities to provide patient care in a healing, humane, and caring environment.
- Collect patient healthcare data systematically and, on an ongoing basis, using appropriate assessment techniques and instruments.
- Support the missions, philosophy, standards, goals, and objectives of the institution, Departments of Nursing, and service line.
- Acquire and maintain current knowledge and competence to fulfill responsibilities.
Requirements:
- A Baccalaureate degree in Nursing is highly preferred; a Diploma or Associates Degree in Nursing requires a minimum of one year experience in conjunction with plans to earn a baccalaureate degree required.
- Current Registered Professional Nurse in New York licensure is required.
- BCLS is also required.
- Emergency room or critical care nursing experience and membership in pertinent professional organizations preferred.
- Fluent written and spoken English language skills necessary.
- Physical stamina, manual dexterity, visual, and aural acuity to perform responsibilities needed also required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong IV skills; oncology experience
