Job Summary:

Ernest is seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our corporate office in Commerce, CA. As a key member of our Finance Department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties to ensure accurate and timely completion of work.

Responsibilities:

* Perform month-end close and year-end close for assigned divisions
* Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets and income statements
* Reconcile General Ledger accounts and investigate any unreconciled differences
* Prepare journal entries, including proper General Ledger account, department, division, and project cost coding
* Maintain monthly amortization schedules
* Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and investigate any unreconciled differences
* Calculate monthly sales commissions

Secondary Responsibilities:

* Assist in the preparation of annual budgets (sales and expense)
* Complete other government forms as assigned
* Assist various other departments with accounting-related issues

Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
* Minimum of three years' experience in Accounting
* Proficiency in SAP a plus
* Strong computer skills and ability to learn in a fast-paced environment
* Ability to create and/or maintain Excel spreadsheets using formulas
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision to meet deadlines
* Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
* Attention to detail is a must
