YesCare is seeking a highly skilled Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner to join our team in a correctional setting. As a Behavioral Health Nurse Practitioner, you will play a critical role in providing mental health services to inmates and patients in a variety of settings.
Key Responsibilities- Respond to and initiate care for those requiring mental health services throughout the facility.
- Assess inmate/patient in a variety of settings.
- Identify inmate/patient mental health problems and prescribe treatment under direction of a physician.
- Implement mental health services utilizing therapeutic regimens approved by a psychiatrist.
- Provide mental health education to inmate/patient, healthcare and correctional staff.
- Document all mental healthcare contacts.
- Adhere to safety and security policies and participate in disaster drills.
- Follow security regulations for keys, sharps and controlled medications.
- Delegate to and supervise other appropriate infection control practices.
- Adhere to Universal Precautions and other appropriate infection control practices.
- Follow standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
