Patient Care Assistant

Williamson Health is seeking a skilled Patient Care Assistant to join our team in the Surgical Unit. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our patients and families.
Responsibilities- Assist with patient care, reporting problems/needs, and performing interventions consistent with identified problems as directed by the nurse.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to coordinate the delivery of patient care in a timely manner.
- Handle and transport medications/solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Assist with maintaining a clean and organized OR Suite environment, adhering to OR sanitation policies.
- Return equipment and supplies to their proper place and prepare the OR room for the next case.
- Maintain a safe and efficient work environment, organizing the unit as needed.
- Maintain position-specific qualifications and facilitate staff development.
- Demonstrate responsibility for assigned communications and cost containment.
- Respond promptly to radio communications and report location when leaving the unit.
- Effectively and efficiently turn over operating rooms.
- High School Graduate.
- Perioperative Care experience.
- Ability to work well under pressure, function dependently and independently, and communicate in English verbally and legibly.
- Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day, lift and turn patients with assistance up to 250 lbs, and transport patients on a stretcher or bed as necessary.
