Position Summary

The Logistics Coordinator will oversee the receipt and verification of all incoming and outgoing shipments, as well as manage the loading and unloading of materials. This role is essential in organizing warehouse inventory and ensuring efficient distribution across the Rosenbauer campus. The successful candidate will also operate a forklift to facilitate various tasks within the Materials department.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Prepare parts for shipment, including palletizing or crating as necessary.
  2. Receive and confirm all incoming and outgoing shipments, managing the loading and unloading processes.
  3. Maintain organized warehouse inventory and allocate materials to support assembly operations.
  4. Safely operate a forklift to perform all required tasks within the Materials department.
  5. Generate commercial documentation for both imports and exports.
  6. Inspect incoming deliveries for damages and verify shipments against documentation.
  7. Communicate effectively with other departments and vendors to ensure smooth shipping and receiving operations.
  8. Collaborate with the returns department to process unused parts and maintain records of non-returnable items.
  9. Assist the service department by ensuring timely delivery of parts for service technicians working on-site.
  10. Fulfill additional duties as assigned by management to meet organizational needs.

Tools Utilized:

Hand tools, power tools, and various equipment including a Sawzall, drill, hammer, prybar, bander (metal/cloth), and ratchet straps.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Previous experience operating a forklift is preferred.
  • Ability to obtain forklift certification is required.
  • 3+ years of experience in a shipping and receiving role is preferred.

Skills Required

  • Language: Proficient in reading blueprints and following written and verbal instructions.
  • Math: Capable of performing basic arithmetic operations using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Computer: Familiarity with basic computer tasks, including email and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.).

Abilities

  • Effectively communicate project progress to supervisors.
  • Identify quality issues and adapt to changes in the production process.
  • Prioritize tasks and manage multiple responsibilities while meeting deadlines.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Understand and adhere to safety policies to promote a secure workplace.

Additional Qualifications

  • Valid driving license may be required for operating company vehicles.
  • Willingness to work evenings and weekends as needed.
  • Ability to travel locally for vendor interactions.
  • Must be able to obtain forklift certification.
