Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Ammonia Refrigeration Technician to join our team at Skillwork. As a Traveling Ammonia PSM Coordinator, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing boilers and boiler room auxiliary equipment, monitoring load demands, and ensuring the safe operation of our facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on boilers and boiler room equipment, including pumps, steam and water valves, air compressors, and high-pressure condensate systems.
  • Monitor load demands and adjust boiler operation as needed to maintain required steam, air, and water output.
  • Monitor and adjust chemical feed systems for water treatment, ensuring correct chemical levels.
  • Manipulate valves to control water and fuel flow, and adjust equipment controls to correct malfunctions.
  • Observe operating equipment, meters, and gauges to ensure operation is in accordance with specified instructions.
  • Report abnormal operating conditions or major repair requirements to shift supervisors and assist in implementing remedial action.
  • Perform minor repairs, such as replacing defective meters, packing valves, and tightening joints.
  • Assist in the annual boiler inspection and prepare boilers for inspection.
  • Demonstrate personal commitment to the organization's core values through active involvement in the quality improvement process.
  • Demonstrate safe work practices and attitudes, follow all safety rules, and participate in organizational and departmental safety programs.
Requirements:
  • Ammonia PSM Certification - Minimum Requirement
  • Active RETA CARO & CIRO certifications - Preferred Requirement
  • 8+ years experience as a refrigeration technician/operator
  • Valid DL
  • Good written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient reading schematics
  • Ammonia Refrigeration experience
