The Department of Veteran Affairs is actively seeking a full-time, supervisory Psychiatrist to join our esteemed team in Colorado. In this on-site position, you will oversee a dedicated group of healthcare professionals committed to serving a diverse population of Veterans in the region. Our services encompass both inpatient and outpatient care for various psychiatric conditions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and therapeutic interventions.
- Perform diagnostic assessments and manage medication for patients.
- Lead suicide risk assessments and ensure holistic care for individuals with psychiatric disorders.
- Act as a mental health team leader, coordinating consults and triaging specialty clinic referrals.
- Engage in administrative duties, including the development and oversight of mental health programs and procedures.
- Collaborate with the Service Chief to enhance departmental policies and procedures.
- Participate in the supervision and education of psychiatric residents.
Essential Qualifications:
- Medical Doctor (MD or DO) with an active and unrestricted DEA license.
- Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in any US state.
- Completion of US residency training in Psychiatry.
- Experience in multidisciplinary inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care.
- Preferred: 2+ years of managerial or supervisory experience in a clinical environment.
- On-call duty is a requirement for this position.
