Position Overview:
The Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) provides comprehensive medical care to a diverse patient population. The APRN conducts evaluations and manages treatment plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals. This role encompasses the prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and recovery of various health conditions, with the authority to prescribe medications and order diagnostic tests.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with physicians to develop, assess, and modify treatment strategies.
  • Conduct thorough neurological assessments, including patient histories and physical examinations.
  • Design and execute treatment plans for patients with neurological disorders such as migraines, neuropathy, and dizziness.
  • Assist neurologists in procedures including lumbar punctures and nerve conduction studies.
  • Independently perform certain procedures as permitted by state regulations.
  • Engage in multidisciplinary team discussions to address complex patient cases and formulate comprehensive care strategies.
  • Document detailed physical examinations and health histories.
  • Carry out age-appropriate assessments for patients.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests tailored to the patient's specific needs.
  • Prescribe both pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatment options.
  • Implement interventions to help patients achieve or maintain physiological stability.
  • Ensure compliance with facility, state, and federal regulations in patient care.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of treatment interventions.
  • Facilitate patient transitions across healthcare settings, including admissions and discharges.
  • Collaborate with team members to make appropriate referrals.
  • Provide educational resources to support decision-making for patients and families.
  • Adhere to organizational policies and safeguard institutional assets.

Qualifications:
Education:
Master's degree in a relevant field.

Certification and Licensing:
Valid State of Florida APRN License. Certification as an Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (AGNP) or Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) through recognized organizations.

Experience:
A minimum of 2 years of relevant clinical experience, preferably in a neurology context.

Skills and Competencies:
  • Strong judgment in critical decision-making.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in task completion.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage workload effectively under pressure.
  • Capacity to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Proficient communication skills in both written and verbal forms.
