POSITION SUMMARY
The Clinical Nurse Specialist in Oncology at UHealth Tower is responsible for delivering exceptional patient care within the oncology department. This role involves working both autonomously and in collaboration with a diverse team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient management. Key responsibilities include performing detailed health assessments, prescribing medications, and overseeing patient care transitions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Conduct comprehensive health assessments and detailed patient histories.
  • Independently evaluate patients across various age groups.
  • Order and analyze diagnostic evaluations.
  • Prescribe suitable therapeutic interventions.
  • Monitor patient conditions and responses to treatment.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Provide education and support to patients and their families.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Master’s degree in a relevant discipline
Licensure and Certification: Valid APRN License in the State of Florida
Experience: A minimum of 2 years in a relevant clinical setting
Skills and Attributes: Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, ability to perform under pressure, and excellent communication abilities.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Clinical Nurse Specialist will also be involved in:
  • Conducting thorough patient evaluations.
  • Collaborating with physicians to develop treatment strategies.
  • Interpreting diagnostic results and implementing necessary interventions.
  • Engaging in effective communication with healthcare team members.
  • Managing symptoms related to oncological treatments.
RESEARCH INVOLVEMENT:
Facilitating clinical research initiatives and protocols.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • State Licensure.
  • Board certification.
  • Current CPR and ACLS certifications.
  • At least 2 years of experience in Oncology.
