Job Overview

As a valued member of the Envelop Group family of companies, Open Control Systems (OCS) is seeking a skilled Controls Technician to join our team. This role will involve installing, troubleshooting, and repairing building automation control systems, while providing exceptional customer service to internal and external customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform job start-up, checkout, and troubleshooting for HVAC control systems.
  • Assist in automation system start-ups utilizing commissioning tools and complete adjustments/calibrations.
  • Participate in job site meetings and final walk-throughs on assigned jobs and complete all job closeout documentation.
  • Perform repairs to building systems, including air handler controls, room controls, chilled water controls, and issues related to the building automation system.
  • Support project transition from installation to service team and complete paperwork on time, including time sheets, expense reports, and project status reports.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED; Mechanical, electrical, or related technical degree preferred.
  • Experience installing and/or servicing electronic control, HVAC, or other mechanical equipment preferred.
  • Basic understanding of HVAC systems, sequence, and applications.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide dedicated support to customers.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook) and good verbal and written communication skills.
Physical Demands
  • Ability to work in a variety of circumstances, including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high-lift equipment.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet, and carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 50 pounds unassisted.

Qualified applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without the need for employer-based sponsorship currently or in the future.

Pre-hire requirements include a drug test, a driving report, evidence of insurability, and a background check.
