Position Overview: The role of the Corrosion Control Mechanic II involves the identification and treatment of corrosion using both chemical and mechanical methods. Responsibilities include the removal and application of protective coatings on aircraft.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute all tasks as instructed by management.
  • Adhere to directives from the work center shift lead or higher authority.
  • Safeguard the security and maintenance of both government and company-owned equipment.
  • Engage with customers and colleagues in a professional and respectful manner.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  • Fulfill all licensing and qualification requirements set by government and company standards.
  • Complete On the Job Training (OJT), Hazardous Waste (HW) protocols, Tool Control Program (TCP), and safety regulations.
  • Qualify and perform duties as a collateral duty inspector (CDI) as necessary.
  • Lead scheduled and unscheduled corrosion inspections and treatments according to technical manuals.
  • Oversee the stripping and painting of aircraft and support equipment.
  • Manage the disposal of hazardous waste in compliance with regulations.
  • Participate in aircraft towing operations.
  • Document maintenance actions in NALCOMIS/OOMA and maintain accurate records.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED is required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience in aircraft corrosion control is essential.
  • At least two years of experience in aircraft painting and priming techniques.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow both verbal and written instructions.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to walk and stand for extended periods on various surfaces.
  • Capability to lift up to fifty pounds.
  • Physical agility to climb, bend, stoop, and reach above shoulder level.
  • Must wear protective clothing and safety equipment as required.
  • Handle hazardous materials following safety guidelines.
  • Work in environments that may include exposure to extreme weather conditions.
  • Ability to work shifts as needed.
  • Normal hearing and color vision are required.
  • A valid driver's license is mandatory.

Travel Requirements:

Travel may be necessary for periods extending up to 90 days.
