Job Summary:

Premier Plastic Surgery Partners LLC is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist to join our team. As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective conduct of surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Preoperative Duties:
    • Gather, check, and open supplies and equipment needed for the surgical procedure.
    • Set up the sterile back table and Mayo stand with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications/solutions needed for the procedure.
    • Perform initial instrument, sharps, and sponge counts with the circulator.
    • Assist team members with gowning and gloving.
    • Assist with draping the patient and establishing the sterile field.
    • Participate in the surgical site and patient verification during the time-out procedure.
    • Secure tubing, cords, and other sterile accessories.
  • Intraoperative Duties:
    • Anticipate the needs of the surgeon by passing instruments and supplies during the procedure.
    • Measure and pass medications, hemostatic agents, and irrigation solutions used during the surgical procedure.
    • Hold retractors or instruments, sponges, or suction the operative site, apply electrocautery to clamps or forceps on bleeders, and cut suture material as directed by the surgeon.
    • Maintain the highest standard of sterile technique during the procedure.
    • Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization.
    • Assist other members of the team with terminal cleaning of the room.
  • Other Duties:
    • Assist in turn overs and prepping the OR for the next patient.
    • Participate in debriefing and quality improvement practices to ensure quality patient care.

Requirements:

  • Current licensure in good standing in the state of Massachusetts.
  • 1-year Certified Surgical Technologist experience within the past two years.
  • BLS certification is mandatory.
