Recreation Counselor - Part-Time

Outreach Development is seeking a qualified Recreation Counselor to join our team. As a Recreation Counselor, you will be responsible for planning, documenting, and overseeing client recreational activities in our Men and Women Residential program located in Brentwood, Long Island.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide supervised highly structured indoor and outdoor recreational activities to residents.
  • Supervise highly structured indoor recreation in the weight room with residents.
  • Plan and oversee special events with residents and their families.
  • Assist with providing scheduled activities for residents in orientation, early treatment, middle treatment, and late treatment phases of the program.
  • Work with supervisor to provide daily group notes indicating activities and resident participation.
Requirements:
  • Available to work Sun-Thurs 3 pm-11pm.
  • Experience in creative arts and/or recreational therapy.
  • Commitment to providing quality services and outcome-driven performance measures.
  • Action-oriented, adaptable, and innovative approach to program planning.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
