Respiratory Care Specialist

Source Code is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team.
Job Summary:We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in our hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in respiratory care, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Plan, implement, and perform respiratory care diagnostic and therapeutic regimes for patients.
- Operate and maintain related equipment, including mechanical ventilators.
- Provide patient transportation, as staffing allows.
- Conduct blood gas drawing, analysis, and interpretation.
- Sample blood from invasive cardiovascular lines.
- Manage artificial airways.
- Administer aerosolized drugs.
- Provide oxygen therapy, humidity therapy, and continuous positive airway pressure therapy (CPAP).
- Perform pulmonary function testing (bedside and in diagnostic lab).
- Use incentive spirometry (IS) and chest physiotherapy techniques.
- Assess and educate patients.
- Communicate effectively with other departments.
- Operate equipment in accordance with department policy.
- Disinfect equipment and maintain quality control.
- Participate in the department's Quality Assurance Program.
- Must obtain State of Vermont Respiratory Therapy Licensure prior to start date.
- Hold an Associate degree from an AMA-approved program for Respiratory Care.
- Be a Certified or Registered Respiratory Therapist or eligible to take the NBRC written examination within one year of hire.
- Have reliable transportation, as public transportation is limited.
- Hold current BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification.
- Have at least one year of work experience as a Respiratory Therapist in a hospital setting.
- Be able to work independently.
