Overview: As a Magnetic Resonance Imaging Specialist (PRN - Saturday Mobile Unit), you will operate under the guidance of the department manager, performing diagnostic imaging procedures as prescribed by the referring physician or provider. Your role will emphasize high-quality patient care while adhering to safety protocols to ensure effective magnetic resonance imaging and other diagnostic studies.
***This position requires availability for PRN coverage on alternate Saturdays for the Mobile Unit.***
This role necessitates a strong commitment to teamwork, collaboration, and responsiveness to departmental scheduling needs, including punctuality, positive attitude, customer service, and effective communication skills.
Special Conditions: This position is classified as Safety Sensitive / Drug-Free Workplace / COVID Vaccination Requirements.
Supervision: You will work under the direct supervision of the Imaging/Radiology Manager or designated administrator, with increasing autonomy based on demonstrated job performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and appropriate patient care while conducting diagnostic imaging as requested by the patient's physician/provider.
- Assist radiologists by providing comprehensive patient histories and necessary tools for examinations.
- Complete all imaging procedures thoroughly, including necessary documentation and billing processes.
- Verify and cross-check patient exam information to reduce discrepancies.
- Maintain clean, organized, and adequately stocked examination rooms.
- Capture high-quality diagnostic images using appropriate equipment, techniques, and patient positioning.
- Utilize in-depth knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and disease processes to ensure optimal patient positioning for diagnostic accuracy.
- Implement safety measures to protect both patients and staff during imaging procedures.
- Provide services across MRI modalities.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited Radiology program or a certificate from an accredited Radiography program is required.
- Preferred: 1 year of experience in MRI within a hospital environment.
Licenses and Certifications:
- Current, unrestricted Arizona CRT license.
- Current national certification (ARRT) (R). MRI extended registry if certified.
- MRI certification is preferred; if not certified at hire, certification must be obtained within 2 years of employment.
CT extended registry if certified. Current CT certification is preferred.
BLS Certification (American Heart Association) is required upon hire.
Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Comprehensive knowledge of radiographic and magnetic resonance imaging procedures, patient care, and familiarity with computer technology.
- Ability to enhance professional and technical knowledge through continuous education and professional development.
- Understanding of HIPAA privacy regulations and medical terminology.
- Ability to foster and maintain strong working relationships through effective communication and cooperation with patients, staff, and vendors.
- Willingness to adapt to a flexible work schedule as necessary.
- Proven ability to self-motivate and work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong customer service orientation with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated positive communication skills and a commitment to courteous, cooperative, and service-oriented behavior.
