HVAC Maintenance Technician

The Ridgecrest Foundation is seeking a dedicated individual to assist in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-functioning environment for our guests. This role focuses on the preventative upkeep and repair of various systems including boilers, HVAC, refrigeration, and electrical components.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the repair and preventative maintenance of all mechanical, electrical, and environmental control systems.
- Assist in the installation and replacement of mechanical equipment, HVAC systems, energy management systems, and refrigeration units.
- Monitor and maintain energy management systems to ensure optimal indoor air quality and comfort levels.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated integrity and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to meet established quality standards.
- Familiarity with current HVAC technologies.
- Knowledge of National Electrical, Fire Alarm, and local codes related to mechanical systems.
- Understanding of basic electronics.
- Ability to interpret schematics and blueprints.
Education and Experience
- High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- Certification for reclaiming and recycling CFC and HCFC refrigerants (or completion within 6 months of hire).
- Vocational training or equivalent experience (minimum of 2 years).
- Relevant certifications for equipment maintenance.
- Valid driver's license required.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to walk, stand, and work for extended periods (up to 12 hours).
- Capability to lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Good mobility and range of motion from floor level to overhead.
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Daily tasks will involve bending, stretching, kneeling, twisting, climbing, and lifting.
- Proficiency in using hand and power tools.
- Normal vision, hearing, and sense of smell are essential.
- Availability for night and weekend work as needed, including emergency callbacks.
