Job Opportunity

Hunton Trane, a division of The Hunton Group, is seeking a skilled Building Automation Systems Sales Professional to join our team. As a technical sales consultant, you will work with engineers, architects, contractors, and owners/developers to design, apply, and sell Building Automation System solutions for commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and sell integrated Building Automation Systems.
  • Collect, organize, and assemble data for reports, presentations, and special projects.
  • Respond to customer needs by identifying systems, products, generating quotes, and closing orders.
  • Communicate order changes to customers.
  • Develop multiple relationships with key players in the customer's organization, including project managers, project engineers, construction, financial, and purchasing personnel.
  • Assist customers in answering technical questions on HVAC systems, Trane products, and system application alternatives, BAS, installation, operation, maintenance, and problem resolution.
  • Conduct price estimates and quotations for projects.
  • Conduct customer visits and customer events to build relationships with key accounts.
  • Monitor and track quoted projects and current orders.
  • Manage plan and specification takeoffs, selection, pricing, and bidding.
  • Conduct formal presentations and training sessions with customer groups.
  • Observe The Trane Company's conditions and business conduct policies when securing business in the marketplace.
  • Flexibility to work overtime/weekends, as required.
  • Frequent travel requirements with some overnight travel.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.

Education and/or Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or other IT-related degrees from a 4-year College or University.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Sales position, preferably HVAC/industry, estimating, engineering, construction management, or contracting environment.
