Bridge Carpenter Foreperson

We are seeking a skilled Bridge Carpenter Foreperson to join our Structures Division team. As a key member of our crew, you will be responsible for training and directing activities related to the construction, erection, installation, and repair of structures and fixtures made of wood, plywood, and wallboard.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with OSHA and H&K Safety policies
  • Read and interpret blueprints and job-related documents to plan work effectively
  • Record daily events in the job diary and schedule materials, equipment, and work for the crew
  • Develop and submit crew SIPs to the site Foreperson and track daily quantities
  • Conduct daily huddles with the crew to establish production goals and ensure all members understand the plan
  • Communicate effectively with customer representatives and inspectors
  • Perform other duties as needed
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university or one year of related experience and/or training
  • Working knowledge of carpentry and ability to direct a crew
  • Ability to read blueprints and job-related documents
  • Ability to operate surveying instruments and equipment
  • Experience with pile driving and drilling equipment
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Basic computer skills, including internet, email, and digital cameras for work documentation
  • Driver's license and clean driving record
  • Ability to travel as required for projects
Preferred Qualifications
  • 2 years of relevant experience and/or training
  • Experience operating heavy equipment used in highway construction
  • Supervisory experience
  • OSHA or other relevant safety certifications
