Job Summary:

This is a full-time position working Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm. The successful candidate will assist physicians and other healthcare team members with patient care, perform clinical procedures, and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist physicians and other healthcare team members with patient care and treatment
  • Perform clinical procedures, such as venipuncture, according to established policies and procedures
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records
  • Respond to the unique needs of patients of all ages, from pediatric to geriatric
  • Work independently and as part of a team to provide excellent patient care
Requirements:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Currently certified as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) required
  • Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification required or must be obtained within thirty (30) days of employment
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Venipuncture skills preferred but not required
Work Environment:

This position is located in the Psychiatry Clinic at UAB Medicine. The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a team of healthcare professionals dedicated to providing excellent patient care.
