Job Overview

The Maine Divorce Group is seeking a seasoned and skilled attorney to join our team as a Family Law Specialist. As a key member of our litigation team, you will be responsible for handling complex divorce cases, advocating for clients in high-stakes situations, and providing expert legal advice.

Key Responsibilities
  • Litigate and resolve matters related to divorce and separation, including property division, child custody, and alimony.
  • Maintain effective communication with clients and other relevant parties involved in legal proceedings.
  • Negotiate settlements on behalf of clients, demonstrating strong advocacy skills.
  • Represent clients in legal proceedings, including court hearings, trials, and depositions.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and offer expert legal advice to clients.
  • Draft a variety of legal documents, such as discovery motions, pleadings, and briefs.
Requirements
  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active and in good standing with your state bar.
  • Willingness to apply for reciprocal admission to the Maine Bar if relocating.
  • Proven experience in family law.
  • Client focus: Compassion, Connection, Communication.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a dynamic legal team to achieve maximum impact and effect for clients.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong research, writing, and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in courtroom representation.
